Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily food manufacturing operations to ensure the safe efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality products. This role provides leadership across production warehouse sanitation inventory control maintenance coordination food safety quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager ensures compliance with USDA FDA HACCP GMP SQF and company standards while driving operational excellence employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve production schedules quality standards and labor efficiency targets.
• Monitor production processes to maximize throughput while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Ensure labor resources are properly allocated to meet operational demands.
• Drive accountability for safety quality productivity and attendance performance.
• Partner with Managers Production Supervisors and Leads to maintain efficient workflow execution.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing 5S Kaizen and operational excellence initiatives.
• Utilize KPIs to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Analyze labor yield waste and productivity metrics to improve operational performance.
• Lead cross-functional projects focused on efficiency quality and cost savings.

• Ensure compliance with HACCP GMP USDA FDA SQF and company food safety programs.

Safety & Compliance

• Support all internal customer and regulatory audits.
• Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain production environments that meet sanitation and food safety requirements.
• Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety observations and incident investigations.
• Champion employee safety programs and proactive risk reduction activities.
• Maintain compliance with environmental and workplace regulations.

Qualifications :

• 5 years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP GMPs USDA FDA and food safety regulations.
• Experience managing multiple departments and large hourly workforces.
• Proficiency with ERP inventory management and production scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in fresh-cut produce ready-to-eat foods commissary or refrigerated food manufacturing environments.
