About the Role

The Process Engineer will be responsible for application development, troubleshooting, as well as helping the service and parts business development in North America. In addition to supporting the Environmental sales team, the process engineer will maintain and grow relationships within the market.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve on processes for assigned GEA Markets, with the emphasis of GEA Decanter mechanical separation technology.
• Support Sales Engineers in developing innovative solutions for customers.
• Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
• Prepare and process samples for spin down studies and facilitate Design of Experiments for further testing and product development.
• Collect, record, and transcribe data in detailed reports.
• Maintain testing equipment as required and needed for job responsibilities.
• Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process (both upstream and downstream of GEA equipment)
• Ability to train customers on proper and safe use of GEA equipment.
• Ability to train other GEA team members on both equipment and processes.
• Work with Project Engineering to develop cost-effective and efficient solutions for future sales projects.
• Works effectively in a Team based work environment.
• Ability to read/interpret P&IDs, General Arrangement (Mechanical Drawings), Electrical Schematics, and other engineering documentation.
• Ability to work in the Environmental market , specifically Municipal waste treatment plants in the dewatering and thickening of Digested sludge and Waste Activated sludge.
• Familiarity with process controls, motor controls, instrumentation, automation principles, and industrial networking.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures utilized in machine/system control systems.
• Overnight travel throughout NAM.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Position reports to the Sales Director.

Qualifications

• BS in an applicable Engineering field preferred, other disciplines or equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years process experience, Municipal Wastewater experience highly desired.

Pay range and compensation package

The typical base pay range for this position is $85K - $115K. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards.
