IT DirectorThe Information Technology (IT) Director for the City of West Monroe provides key support regarding productively managing and coordinating all activities within the IT Department which include overseeing all IT operations and leading the IT staff.Specific Tasks, Duties, & ResponsibilitiesDesigns and implements IT strategies and infrastructureIdentifies and eliminates security risksAnalyzes business requirements for IT needs and systemsWorks to increase user satisfactionEvaluates IT operations regarding established goalsCommunicates within IT team and across departments as neededAssesses need for new equipment and softwarePrepares progress and budget reports for upper managementHires new members of IT staffBuilds and maintains relationships with outside vendorsManages company help deskContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as neededAll other duties as assignedWorker RequirementsBachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field required (graduate degree a plus)8+ years' experience working in IT operations3+ years' experience overseeing IT teams and projectsCertifications and continuing education preferredSound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases, and storage systemsStrong interpersonal, communication and leadership skillsAbility to manage and prioritize tasks and projectsSolid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocolsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsTeam orientedHours/SchedulingSchedule is typically Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm
