Job Description Quality Assurance Technician Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring product and vehicle quality through detailed inspections, measurement verification, documentation, and compliance with established quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations by performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections while working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify and resolve quality concerns. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in dimensional inspection, CMM programming, torque verification, blueprint interpretation, and GD&T. Key Responsibilities

- Perform inspections of in-process builds, vehicle components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies according to established procedures.
- Conduct torque measurement verification and maintain accurate inspection documentation.
- Approve or reject materials, components, and assemblies based on quality standards and specifications.
- Perform precision inspections on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Utilize CMM equipment and portable measurement systems, including programming and inspection activities using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks software.
- Operate articulating arm measurement equipment and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify product conformance.
- Complete receiving, in-process, and final inspection reports and communicate inspection results effectively.
- Perform final vehicle inspections according to established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve inspection findings and production challenges.
- Review quality procedures and participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and support quality documentation requirements.
- Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of trigonometry and precision measurement principles.
- Additional training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- 3-5 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality inspection environment.
- Minimum 2 years of torque measurement experience, preferably within a vehicle assembly or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience monitoring and documenting in-process vehicle builds.
- Minimum 2 years of recent CMM programming experience, preferably using PC-DMIS.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience performing inspections with a Romer Portable CMM, preferably using PolyWorks.
- Proficiency using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
- Knowledge of CAD model interpretation.
- Experience with digital torque monitoring systems such as Datamyte and/or Atlas Copco preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, machining processes, and casting methods.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Vehicle inspection experience.
- Experience supporting automotive, transportation, or complex assembly manufacturing environments.
- Previous involvement in internal quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to read computer screens, reports, drawings, and technical documents with attention to detail.
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively in office and manufacturing environments.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for the use of inspection equipment, tools, and computer systems.
- Ability to bend, reach, stretch, twist, and move throughout manufacturing and office areas.
- Ability to occasionally climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work in confined positions.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods while performing repetitive inspection activities.
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
- Position may be assigned to specific shifts and production schedules.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, industrial noise levels, and manufacturing conditions may occur.
- Requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support production and quality objectives.
- Success in this role requires attention to detail, concentration, a methodical approach to work, and the ability to follow established procedures and instructions.
- Ability to safely work around equipment and machinery while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- No travel required.
