Outpatient RN

To provide quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process and established guidelines of nursing practice. Primary position responsibilities include initial intake, patient room preparation, before and after care, patient order, point of care, patient safety, and attending staff meetings. Work contact group includes physicians and residents at various levels of training, patients, patients families, outpatient office staff personnel, some HMC department personnel, and representatives from laboratory pharmaceutical companies. Reports to Nurse Manager and or Nurse supervisor Practice Manager, Office Manager, Practice Director. Supervises clinical staff in absence of Nurse supervisor/manager. Minimum education required: Nursing diploma. Preferred: Associates Degree in Nursing. Minimum years of experience required: None. License, registry or certification required: Graduate from an accredited nursing school; current New Jersey RN license, CPR certified, or obtain certification within 6 months. Knowledge, skills and/or abilities required: Good communication and interpersonal skills, decision making ability, telephone etiquette, detail and multitasking oriented, ability to handle a high volume of patients.
