Human Resources GeneralistWe are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist who will play a pivotal role in administering and executing human resource programs. This position requires a dedicated professional who can handle a variety of HR duties, including managing benefits, compliance, and employee relations, while supporting two sites in Cleveland, OH and Cardington, OH.ResponsibilitiesTrack and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.Administer and execute HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance management, and training.Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters appropriately.Maintain compliance with employment laws and best practices, reviewing policies for compliance.Oversee, administer, and coordinate all employee benefits, working with Third Party Administrators and insurance carriers.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the company's retirement savings programs, including audits and reporting.Interpret and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including benefits and FMLA/disability leave.Manage recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding processes for new employees.Ensure compliance with safety training courses during new hire orientation.Follow procedures for handling benefit-related matters and stay updated on relevant laws.Utilize HRIS to track employee activity and maintain employee records.Assist with other HR duties and participate in union negotiations as required.Interface positively and professionally with all organization levels, handling issues confidentially.Essential SkillsMinimum of five (5) years of relevant HR generalist experience, especially in benefits and employee relations.Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Strong organizational skills and timely follow-through.Computer literacy in PC, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Benefit Administration, Business Administration, or Social Sciences preferred.Prior manufacturing experience preferred.High interest in team collaboration and independent work.Work EnvironmentThe role requires the ability to work long hours in a sedentary position, with occasional lifting of materials up to 25lbs. The environment may be noisy, requiring adherence to safety guidelines and wearing PPE. The position includes travel to the Cardington, OH location twice per month, with gas reimbursement and rental car options available. An 8-hour workday begins upon leaving home in the morning.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cardington, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
