Warehouse Associate/Assembly 

Location: Downers Grove, IL – Chicago Distribution Center

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay: $20.00 per hour

About the Position

Our client is seeking a Warehouse Associate with mechanical knowledge and assembly experience to join their Chicago Distribution Center in Downers Grove.

This position combines traditional warehouse responsibilities with basic assembly and component handling. T he ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, is comfortable using hand tools, can read basic drawings or assembly instructions, and takes pride in accuracy, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, wrap, label, and prepare orders for shipment or customer pickup.
• Receive, unload, label, and properly store inventory.
• Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Read and follow assembly instructions, drawings, and hand assembly)
• Identify and troubleshoot basic assembly issues and perform minor adjustments or repairs.( used hand tools) 
• Inspect the quality and accuracy of parts ( visual inspections of parts) 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Operate and properly maintain warehouse equipment.
• Document warehouse and inventory activities and report discrepancies.
• Work closely with supervisors and coworkers to meet daily goals.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, assembly, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical components.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand basic drawings and basic assembly 
• Experience with measuring- calipers and micrometers are a huge plus but not required
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to learn new tools, processes, and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive warehouse and assembly tasks throughout the workday.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to safely handle warehouse materials and equipment.
