Transportation Planner

Job Title Plans the distribution of cargo loads and reduces shipping costs by maximizing the capacity of freight vehicles. Responsibilities Daily Load Planning for Domestic JB Hunt Runs Preparing daily Warehouse Schedule Domestic/Canadian UPS Shipments Monitor DC mailbox for transportation deliverables Scheduling extra freight available to our customers Scheduling other DC's OOT shipments Assists shipping clerks with daily tasks/coverage Contact with customers when shipments arrive late or need to be rescheduled Sending customer notifications either by manifests/phone calls/ confirming correct appt through automatic emails Process outbound stock order transfer (STO) shipments Manage throughput reporting for DC Monitor inbound container notifications from carriers Run minimum weight block and road block report daily Monitor daily transportation reports from corporate partners Oversees yard management logs Process LTL, UPS, XPAS, Branding orders daily Process per diem report daily Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree.
