Design and oversee the clinical model for the IOP, including assessment processes,

diagnostic formulation, treatment pathways, and group/individual service structure,

consistent with BHDDH standards and ASAM Level 2.1 criteria for individuals with

substance use disorders.

 Serve as the clinical supervisor for the IOP as defined in 212RICR10101.6(C)(1),

providing clinical supervision to staff who are not independent practitioners and

validating assessments, integrated summaries, treatment plans, and treatmentplan reviews

as required.

 Ensure each client receives a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment that meets

regulatory content requirements and, for SUD needs, includes ASAMbased levelofcare

recommendations.

 Oversee development and implementation of personcentered, recoveryoriented treatment

plans that include DSM/ICD diagnoses, measurable goals, and clearly assigned

interventions, timelines, and responsible staff.

 Develop, implement, and periodically update group curricula and psychoeducational

content addressing both substance use and mental health needs (e.g., relapse prevention,

coping skills, trauma, mood and anxiety management).

 Establish standards for progress notes, treatmentplan reviews, discharge summaries, and

aftercare plans that satisfy BHDDH documentation requirements and payer expectations

for medical necessity, timeliness, and completeness.

 Collaborate with the prescribing physician or APRN to integrate medication services

(psychotropic medications and/or MAT) into the treatment model, ensuring that

prescriber visits and related documentation meet regulatory and policy expectations (e.g.,

at least quarterly prescriber visits for individuals receiving medications).

 Provide or oversee risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis management, including

criteria and processes for referral to higher levels of care or emergency services as

clinically indicated.
