Certified Coding Specialist

To enhance revenue integrity, the full-time remote Revenue Cycle Coding Edit Specialist will focus on inpatient record abstraction and precise medical coding, ensuring accuracy in data retrieval and compliance with coding standards. Key responsibilities Accurately assign diagnostic and procedure codes for inpatient accounts while adhering to coding guidelines and compliance regulations Review medical documentation within various electronic health systems to resolve coding claim edits and ensure timely responses to departmental requests Abstract additional data elements as required by the enterprise and maintain adherence to quality and productivity coding standards Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in HIM/HIT preferred Must hold one of the following certifications: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA 2+ years of recent inpatient medical coding experience in a hospital or large multi-facility setting Proficient with various encoder and EMR systems, including Optum eCAC and Epic Demonstrated experience working effectively in a remote environment
