Oracle DBA

Clover Consulting has a direct client in Grand Rapids, MI in need of an Oracle DBA for a REMOTE or HYBRID contract role. Role: Oracle DBA Term: 3 months contract - with potential for extensions Rate: Negotiable Location: Grand Rapids, MI (REMOTE or HYBRID) We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) contractor to support our Database team during a period of multiple concurrent infrastructure and SAP initiatives. The contractor will help maintain the stability, performance, and availability of our Oracle database environment while supporting ongoing project work and operational activities. The ideal candidate has strong Oracle DBA experience, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and can quickly become productive with minimal ramp-up. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Oracle databases across Development, QA, and Production environments. Participate in project work, including infrastructure upgrades and migration initiatives. Troubleshoot database issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities. Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance. Support backup, recovery, and database restore activities. Assist with database migrations, refreshes, cloning, and maintenance activities. Support SAP database operations and collaborate with SAP Basis and Infrastructure teams. Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. Follow established operational, security, and change management processes. Required Qualifications 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience. SQL, Exadata experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of Oracle Database administration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery. Experience supporting mission-critical production environments. Experience with RMAN backup and recovery. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Linux/Unix environments. Experience cross collaboration with other infrastructure teams Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting SAP environments. Experience with Oracle Exadata. Experience with SQL Server administration. Experience with Oracle Data Guard. Familiarity with automation and scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell). Experience working with enterprise infrastructure projects and database migrations. Desired Skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and proactive.
