Job Title: Lead Reality Capture Specialist Job Type: Direct hire Location: Cincinnati – heavy travel required Work Authorization: must be eligible to work in the US. Will not provide sponsorship Overview Reality capture translates physical environments into high‑fidelity digital representations, enabling data‑driven decisions across design, construction, and operations. As a Lead Reality Capture Specialist, you will own end‑to‑end 3D documentation efforts while serving as the primary on‑site leader and client point of contact. You will lead field execution, oversee data quality, manage site coordination, and mentor team members. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient operations at assigned facilities, including scheduling, PPE compliance, and on‑site personnel coordination. Key Responsibilities Lead project execution from pre‑planning through final data delivery Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and facility representatives Understand project scope, objectives, site constraints, and safety requirements Plan and manage facility scheduling, including site access, timelines, and team coordination Define and enforce PPE requirements and ensure compliance with all site safety standards Coordinate who will be on‑site, including internal team members, subcontractors, and client stakeholders Prepare travel logistics and ensure team readiness (equipment, staffing, documentation) Lead client walkthroughs to confirm scope, access, risks, and execution strategy Oversee and perform capture of scan, photo, and video data to meet scope and quality standards Ensure proper data organization, documentation, and transfer for completeness and traceability Oversee registration, QA/QC, and post‑processing workflows; identify and resolve data gaps Provide clear direction to team members in the field and support their technical development Train and mentor Associate and Specialist‑level staff on field workflows, best practices, and safety Maintain strong, professional client communication and proactively manage expectations Success in This Role (First 90 Days) Independently lead field capture projects from kickoff through delivery Establish strong relationships as the trusted on‑site lead with clients and facility stakeholders Execute projects that meet or exceed quality, safety, and schedule expectations Effectively manage team coordination, scheduling, and site logistics without disruption Identify risks early and implement solutions to maintain project success Provide hands‑on training and elevate team performance and consistency What You’ll Gain Leadership experience managing field teams and client relationships Ownership of complex projects across diverse industries and environments Advanced expertise in 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, and digital twin workflows A growth path into senior technical leadership or program management roles Position Requirements Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Geomatics, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 3–6+ years of experience with reality capture, survey equipment (TLS or SLAM), or related fieldwork Proven experience leading field operations or small teams preferred Travel 75%+ travel required Skills and Qualifications Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities in dynamic field environments Deep understanding of reality capture workflows, data quality standards, and QA/QC processes Highly organized with the ability to manage scheduling, logistics, and multiple priorities Strong knowledge of site safety practices and PPE enforcement Comfortable working with large datasets and technical workflows Clear, professional communication with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with IVION and Prevu3D a plus Familiarity with FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, or similar tools; strong understanding of LiDAR and coordinate systems Behavior and Mindset Accountable leader who takes ownership of project outcomes Customer‑focused with a strong, professional presence on‑site Proactive problem‑solver who anticipates challenges and acts early Reliable, adaptable, and able to lead under changing site conditions Committed to mentoring others and building team capability Work Environment Frequent travel to industrial and commercial client sites Highly flexible and open to working a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and changing schedules Ability to walk active job sites, navigate varying terrain, and lift/carry equipment (up to ~50 lbs) Responsibility for ensuring safe site operations, including PPE compliance and adherence to facility requirements Willingness to work in varying weather and site conditions while maintaining safety and quality standards Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Gravity IT Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
