As our Business Insights Lead, you’ll operate at the center of strategy, data, and execution—partnering directly with senior leadership to tackle the organization’s most complex and ambiguous challenges. While this is an individual‑contributor role, it carries significant visibility, influence, and leadership impact across the business. This is not about reporting numbers or building dashboards. From evaluating new market opportunities to pressure‑testing current strategies, your work will have a direct impact on how and where the business grows. Responsibilities Own ad hoc, ambiguous analytical questions coming from SBU leadership, often with incomplete data and unclear starting points. Independently identify, frame, and prioritize business problems and translate complex findings into clear concise recommendations for leadership. Design and build custom operational models, and possible financial models from scratch to support strategic, commercial, and operational decisions. Continuously mine disparate data sources to uncover non‑obvious insights, anomalies, and drivers impacting SBU performance. Act as a thought partner to SBU leadership, challenging assumptions with data and logic. Participate in cross‑functional problem solving to address the business unit’s most pressing challenges and priorities. Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics tools to enhance efficiency, uncover insights to improve business growth opportunities. Partner with operations, commercial teams and finance to evaluate new business opportunities, investments, and performance improvement initiatives. Requirements 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in business analysis and generating actionable market insights 4+ years of progressive experience across data analytics, product management, and financial analysis 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including complex modeling, data manipulation, and reporting 3+ years of hands‑on experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, SQL, Qlik Sense, KNIME) Core Competencies Structured Problem Solving in Ambiguity – Effectively navigates undefined environments, establishing clarity, frameworks, and direction where none exist Analytical Curiosity & Insight Generation – Demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity; consistently probes root causes, challenges assumptions, and uncovers key drivers and gaps Technical Agility & Continuous Learning – Rapidly learns and applies emerging technologies, including AI/ML platforms, to enhance analysis and outcomes Clear & Influential Communication – Translates complex, technical insights into clear, actionable narratives for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Bias for Action & Decision‑Making – Moves work forward decisively with incomplete data, balancing speed with sound judgment Detail Orientation with Strategic Perspective – Engages deeply in analysis while maintaining alignment to broader business objectives and impact Preferences Bachelors degree in Business Experience with Snowflake Travel and Work Arrangements Hybrid role based from our Corporate HQ in Davidson, NC Travel is less than 10% What We Offer At Ingersoll Rand, we embrace a culture of personal ownership—taking responsibility for our company, our communities, and our environment, as well as our individual health and well‑being.
