We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist who thrives in a deadline-driven environment. This role is essential to our financial integrity; you will be responsible for the precise application of payments and ensuring all accounts are reconciled in time for a clean and timely month-end close.

Key Responsibilities

· Payment Processing: Post payments received via Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), lockbox files, insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and manual checks or credit cards into the billing system.

· Reconciliation: Balance daily cash batches to remittance advices and reconcile posted checks against actual bank deposits.

· Adjustments & Denials: Process contractual adjustments, write-offs, and insurance denials in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations.

· Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve overpayments, underpayments, and unidentified receipts. This includes researching misapplied payments and contacting payers to resolve application issues.

Required Qualifications

· Experience: 2+ years in Cash Application or Accounts Receivable with a track record of meeting closing KPIs.

· Accounting Logic: A strong understanding of how cash applications impact the broader financial statement and the importance of a timely close process.

· Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong typing skills.

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
