The Opportunity:  

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Brkthru, you'll own full-cycle recruiting for a portfolio of roles across media, marketing, technical, and sales functions. You'll act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and business leaders. That means shaping what "great" looks like before a search opens, bringing market insight to every intake, and driving each search to a confident, timely hire. 

This is a versatile, hands-on role reporting to the Director of Recruitment. Alongside core recruiting, you’ll take on work that spans the wider people function, including supporting learning and development facilitation through Brkthru University (BTU), helping coordinate the internship program, and representing Brkthru at recruiting and community events. It’s a strong fit for someone who operates with ownership and urgency, communicates proactively with senior stakeholders, and enjoys variety in their day-to-day. 

Responsibilities:  

Recruiting & Hiring  

• Own the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned roles, from intake through offer, delivering qualified candidates on the timelines the business needs and supporting hiring needs with the resources they need to effectively assess candidates. 
• Lead intake meetings with hiring managers and senior leaders to define success, calibrate on must-haves, and set a clear search plan and interview process. 
• Build and execute sourcing strategies that reach active and passive candidates across a range of roles. 
• Coach hiring managers and interview teams on structured, consistent, and fair interviewing. 
• Screen and phone interview candidates, advancing only those aligned with Brkthru hiring focus, values, and policies. 
• Drive the interview process to a clear, timely decision, and partner on offers through close. 
• Partner with hiring managers and VP-level stakeholders throughout the search, delivering responsive service and keeping candidates informed with professional, transparent communication. 
• Keep candidate records and pipelines accurate, current, and compliant with federal, state, and local employment law. 
• Elevate the recruitment process by improving processes, data tracking and analysis, and the candidate experience.

Talent Programs & Team Growth  

• Support learning and development facilitation through Brkthru University (BTU), helping prepare and deliver sessions. 
• Support the Brkthru internship program, from sourcing and onboarding interns through assisting with program coordination as needed. 
• Represent Brkthru at career fairs, community activities, and recruiting events, and maintain partnerships with college career centers and outside organizations. 
• Improve recruiting processes over time, closing gaps and raising quality, consistency, and efficiency. 

Requirements

Required Experience:  

• 4-6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in a professional, fast-paced environment. 
• Demonstrated experience conducting phone screens independently and managing multiple open roles simultaneously. 
• Experience partnering directly with hiring managers to fill roles end-to-end. 
• Demonstrated experience providing excellent service to internal partners and candidates.
• Bring credibility and executive presence with VP-level and senior leaders through poised, concise, and trusted in high-stakes conversations. 
• Exercise sound judgment to make confident screening decisions and deliver clear, well-reasoned hiring recommendations. 

Required Skills:  

• Build credibility quickly with senior leaders through clear, concise, well-reasoned recommendations. 
• Balance competing priorities across multiple stakeholders while keeping every search moving. 
• Build and run sourcing strategies for a variety of roles across multiple channels. 
• Communicate with clarity, accountability, and strong follow-through, both written and verbal. 
• Partner effectively with VP-level and above stakeholders, anticipating needs and adhering to prioritization requests. 
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities, processes, and strategic direction. 
• Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy across records, deliverables, and candidate assessment. 
• Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. 

Preferred Experience (nice-to-haves):  

• Marketing, Media, and technical recruiting experience (developers, engineers, and similar roles). 
• Corporate/in-house recruitment experience. 
• Experience facilitating or delivering training, onboarding, or L&D content. 
• Experience coordinating events, career fairs, or internship/early-career programs. 
• Familiarity with an applicant-tracking system (Paylocity or similar). 
• Exposure to digital media, advertising, or agency environments. 

Success in This Role Looks Like:  

• First 90 days: You're carrying a full requisition load on your own, with hiring managers aligned on search plans and process. 
• First year: Roles consistently move to accepted offer within target time-to-fill, backed by strong pipelines and healthy offer acceptance rates. 
• Hiring managers and senior leaders see you as a strategic partner and describe the process as timely, communicative, and low-friction. 
• You've led at least one visible improvement to how Brkthru recruits, such as interview training, better metrics reporting, or a stronger sourcing channel. 

Other Role Requirements:  

• Brkthru operates as a remote-first company with travel requirements varying by role. The company conducts two all-company offsites per year and in-person onboarding training. All team members maintain a dedicated, reliable workspace, free from distractions, to ensure optimal productivity. 
• This role is remote-first and open to candidates based in or near a Brkthru hub location; the Virginia Beach/Norfolk (Hampton Roads) or Detroit Metro area is preferred. 
• This role requires occasional travel for recruiting events, career fairs, and team gatherings on an as-needed basis. 

Brkthru Hiring and AI Usage

Brkthru welcomes candidates to use AI tools for proofreading or strengthening their resume, but submitting AI-generated cover letters, resumes, or work samples that do not accurately represent a candidate’s skills will be considered a red flag. The use of AI-powered 'whispering bots' or real-time answer-generation apps during live interviews is strictly prohibited.

Our ATS does not leverage AI resume screening to automatically filter candidates. All applications are reviewed by a human. Brkthru may use artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools to assist in the evaluation of applications, assessment scoring, and interview analysis; however, all hiring decisions are made by people.

Salary Description

Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000
