A local business is looking for a bookkeeper/accountant . This position requires solid accounting knowledge, organizational skills, and a friendly, positive attitude. Excellent skills in QuickBooks and MS Office are a must. Responsibilities include A/P and A/R functions, tax filing, reception duties and general office work.

Responsibilities include:

• Use QuickBooks to process, schedule and pay vendor invoices per payment terms, taking available payment discounts
• Monthly bank reconciliations using QuickBooks
• Generate monthly and quarterly accounting reports using QuickBooks
• Process and file scheduled tax filings
• Organize and maintain payable and other administrative files
• Match delivery receipts, order confirmations and other purchase documents to vendor invoices
• Verify invoices for accuracy and resolve errors with vendor
• Review vendor statements in a timely manner; research and resolve questionable amounts
• Monitor bank balances daily and review cash requirements for next 30 days
• Customer invoicing
• Process accounts receivable, including customer invoicing
• Maintain personnel records
• Maintain customer files
• Reception work and other administrative duties
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education and/or work experience requirements include:

• Excellent skills in QuickBooks, MS Excel and Word
• Strong accounting experience and knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude
• Attention to detail and maintain confidentiality in the workplace
• Interest in the field of horticulture

Job Type: 25 to 30 hours


Salary: $18hour


Required experience:

• Customer Service: 5 years
• Accounting: 3 years

Required license or certification:

• Driver's License
