Certified Surgical TechnologistJackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and providing support to the surgical team.Minimum RequirementsCurrent NBSTSA certification (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting). Client requires NBSTSA Certified and maintenance of certification.BLS certification required.Minimum 2 years' experience as a certified Surgical Technologist in an operating room environment.Experience performing scrub technician duties across multiple services and specialties, including instrument passing, sponge/needle counts, specimen handling, and assisting with patient positioning.Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, AORN standards, and sterilization methods for special instruments and equipment.Experience with OR instrumentation management, preference card familiarity, and turnover/restocking procedures.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Preferred: Orthopedics (Ortho) experience.Assignment DetailsFacility Type: Hospital.Shift Name: Days.Shift Details: Days 0700-1500.Standard Hours per Week: 40.Assignment Duration: 13 Week travel assignment.Location HighlightsFalmouth, MA offers coastal access and regional attractions within short drives. Transit options include seasonal ferry service to nearby islands and regional bus routes connecting to Hyannis and other Cape Cod towns, making it suitable for clinicians seeking a coastal and active assignment with easy access to regional destinations.Position Summary and DutiesAssist the surgeon and registered nurse by preparing the operating room, setting up instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions.Perform scrub technician functions for varied surgical specialties and pass instruments and supplies during procedures.Maintain and monitor sterile fields in compliance with hospital policy and AORN standards.Assemble, test, and troubleshoot sterile and non-sterile equipment; operate or assist with sterilizers, lights, suction, and diagnostic equipment as needed.Participate in sponge/needle/instrument counts, prepare and label specimens, and assist with dressing application and patient transfer to recovery.Support OR turnover and restocking, and assist with orientation of new OR staff as required.Document and communicate instrument needs and case-specific preferences in coordination with the surgical team and supply management.Jackson Healthcare and its family of companies are an EEO/AA Employer.
