Underwriter

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 3 days remote after training) Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM MT (occasional Saturdays as needed) We're partnering with a growing financial services company to hire an experienced Underwriter for a hybrid opportunity based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in consumer lending who enjoys making sound credit decisions, analyzing financial information, and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience underwriting solar loans or other home improvement financing, be detail-oriented and customer-focused, and be excited to join a team that values operational excellence and professional growth. Responsibilities: Review and underwrite consumer loan applications within lending authority. Analyze credit, income, and supporting documentation to determine loan eligibility. Perform detailed income calculations and identify any additional documentation needed. Communicate with internal teams, borrowers, and business partners regarding loan decisions and requirements. Ensure loan files are accurate, complete, and compliant with company guidelines. Support process improvements and assist with special projects as needed. Qualifications: 3+ years of consumer loan underwriting experience. Strong knowledge of credit analysis, income calculations, and loan documentation. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office. Experience in solar, home improvement lending, or fintech is a plus, but not required.
