Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Inpatient/Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech therapy services, contributing to the rehabilitation and recovery of patients.

General Job Duties

• Assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in patients.
• Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance speech, language, and swallowing functions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU)
• Bed Size: 235 beds
• Floating Requirements: May be required to float to other units as needed.
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: Specific ratios will adhere to departmental guidelines.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant setting.
• Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Arizona.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Training and Orientation

The onboarding process includes 12 hours of non-billable orientation which will help familiarize new hires with unit protocols and procedures.

Dress Code

Employees are required to wear royal blue scrubs while on duty.

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are not accepted; there is a 50-mile radius restriction for applicants.
• Management may call off or cancel one shift every two weeks as needed.
