Duties Under the supervision of the Director, Resource Development, the Assistant Director, Resource Development is responsible for assigned administrative duties related to the college’s grant-funded projects. The Assistant Director, Resource Development is dedicated to the Learning College concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. The Assistant Director, Resource Development: researches, analyzes, identifies and reports on potential funding sources and grants that support college priorities; works with project teams to prepare grant proposals and budgets and submit them to appropriate agencies; coordinates with grant teams to ensure ongoing activities are implemented, and reports are submitted, per grant agreements; reviews and monitors expenditure of grant funds; trains the college community on applying for grants and grant compliance; supervises coordinators, and fulfills other duties as assigned. Essential Duties/Responsibilities may include. Other duties may be assigned: Work in cooperation with administrators, faculty, and staff to develop program concepts appropriate for external funding; conduct meetings for that purpose, and prepare written concept papers for dissemination. Research, analyze, identify and provide reports on potential funding sources in support of college priorities. Work with project managers and lead teams to write and edit proposals and grant applications for submission to appropriate agencies. Analyze grant proposal content for consistency with college and agency interests, relationship to RFP specifications, and cohesiveness of presentation. Draft letters of submission, agreement, commitment, partnership, or other support for appropriate signatures. Prepare graphic presentations and flow charts as required to support grant applications. Provide leadership in developing grant proposal budgets. Coordinate with grant managers and their supervisors to ensure ongoing grant activities are implemented in alignment with grant goals and objectives. Take leadership in working with grant managers and their supervisors to monitor expenditure of grants funds. Review and pre-approve all grant expenditures prior to final approval by director, Resource Development. Provide Executive Leadership Team monthly status reports on all grant expenditures. Monitor grant reporting by reviewing and editing, as needed, grant reports and verifying reports are submitted according to agency deadlines. Develop and present workshops for college faculty and staff about grant application procedures and grant implementation procedures. Maintain a list of grants researched and submitted, as well as an active grant project list. Represent the resource development office at community and/or partnership meetings, professional organizations, and other college offices and committees, as assigned. Participate as an active member of the division of Institutional Effectiveness regarding division initiatives and contribute to collegewide services and activities. Communicate regularly with appropriate administrators, including the vice presidents, to provide updates and progress information. Supervise staff and perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Master’s degree required. A minimum three (3-5) years of related experience required, such as proposal writing, grant administration and/or budgeting. Preferred Proven success in grant proposal writing. Knowledge of grant funding operations and experience with grant budget development and maintenance strongly preferred. Experience in administration in an education setting and grant program management is desirable. Qualifications In addition to the above requirements, to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be proficient at managing multiple projects simultaneously. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and human relations skills. Excellent skills in concept development, writing, and editing. Demonstrated proposal writing success. Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with college faculty and staff and with community partners and granting agency representatives. Experience and knowledge of grant funding operations, grant budgets, and program management strongly preferred. Position Status Full Time Hours General Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Salary/Wage $70,074-$93,746 Benefits Position: Administrative, Confidential, Managerial & Supervisory ( ACMS ).
