Veterinary Assistant

Animal Specialty Center (ASC), a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Yonkers, NY, is seeking compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistants to join our team. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine while working alongside experienced technicians, specialists, and emergency clinicians. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Veterinary experience pr Veterinary Assistant preferred but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods Key Responsibilities Safely handle and restrain patients Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care and treatments Monitor and record patient information and vital signs Perform laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging procedures Communicate with clients as directed Maintain cleanliness, organization, inventory, and equipment throughout the hospital Make and present estimates to clients for diagnostics, treatments, and/or hospitalization Communicate with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions as directed by veterinarians.
