The hard work is done: underperformance has been cleared out, the team has been rebuilt around a smaller, stronger group, and the business is ready to grow. This hire leads that next phase. The seat is real, the scope is immediate, and for the right operator this is a genuine career inflection point. The Role: You own full P&L for the location and directly manage five department heads: Mitigation, Contents, Reconstruction, Accounting, and Audit. You report to the owner/operator and sit as the senior executive presence on the ground. On-site in Oakland County, five days a week. What you're actually building here: Scaled growth out of a location that has been reset and is ready to run, with a team that wants to build Visible, field-first leadership: ride-alongs with technicians, hands-on presence across departments, and the credibility that comes from proving your value on the ground Full mitigation command. You need to understand this department deeply enough to step into the Mitigation Manager seat if that role turns over. Everything at this location starts in mitigation and the GM has to own that truth P&L accountability across all five departments without becoming a desk operator. The owner was explicit: he does not want someone sat in the office looking at a spreadsheet Hiring, retaining, and developing a team that performs because they respect you, not because you outrank them Why Strong Operators Take This Seat: The triage phase is behind you. You will get direct access to senior leadership within the wider network, people who have built and scaled businesses at a level most operators never get near. The growth path is genuine. The owner has been explicit: the right performer here moves into oversight of multiple locations, or steps into a senior role within the wider network. This is not a line on a job description. It is the conversation he is actively having. For a builder who proves their value, this location is the on-ramp, not the destination. What the Role Requires: Direct, hands-on experience in both mitigation and reconstruction operations, not just one. IICRC certifications (WTR, ASD, AMRT, FSRT) or equivalent grounding. This is a hard filter A rebuild or turnaround track record you can walk through in detail: took over an underperforming team, made hard calls, built something stronger on the other side 5+ years of profit-center leadership in home services with increasing responsibility, and/or an advanced degree The energy and availability to operate seven days a week when it matters. This is a phone-always-on seat Based in, or genuinely willing to relocate to, the Oakland County/metro Detroit market What This Role Is Not For: Strong operators in one function who have never held real P&L responsibility across a location Anyone who leads from data and analysis but won't get in the field. The team will see through it immediately Candidates who can't point to what they've actually built and back it up with references and numbers Anyone without a stable, verifiable track record.
