Resident Engineer

Construction Engineering Project ManagerResponsibilitiesProvide overall project leadership for construction engineering activities, ensuring successful project deliveryDirect and oversee field inspection, material testing, and project documentation effortsLead coordination with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address construction challenges and maintain project qualityInterpret and enforce contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and resolve field conditionsAct as the primary liaison with the Illinois Tollway, managing communications, maintenance of traffic, and project progress reportingConduct and facilitate weekly progress meetings to monitor project performance and address emerging issuesManage authorization to proceed, change orders, and extra work orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvalsMonitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and objectivesMaintain comprehensive and accurate job site records, including daily reports, meeting minutes, approved drawings, and pay requestsEnsure safety protocols are implemented and adhered to by all project participantsMentor and support inspection teams to ensure effective field operations and documentation practicesAssist in designing and planning future projects during off-peak construction periods as requiredChampion project quality, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction throughout all construction phasesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related Engineering degreeLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) requiredMinimum 10 years of experience in construction inspection and civil/structural engineering, with senior engineering responsibilitiesPrevious experience with Illinois Tollway projects is requiredProven leadership in managing complex construction projects and multidisciplinary teamsStrong knowledge of contract management, construction planning, and documentationFamiliarity with e-Builder, ICORS, and Microsoft Office Suite systemsAbility to drive to and work at construction sitesExcellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skillsWillingness to complete required training in OSHA, CPR, and other mandated safety programsMust possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skillsMust be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future$100,000 - $165,000 a year Salaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications. Compensation may vary depending on the candidate's individual background and expertise. Salaries are subject to fluctuation outside of the given range.
