Certified Surgical Technologist PRN

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (Home Care). In this role, the successful candidate will use clinical experience to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and age‑appropriate patient care through planning, implementation, and evaluation. Patient and family are central to care, and the LPN incorporates each patient’s unique characteristics and needs into the care process. The LPN works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. The role requires performing multiple clinical and clerical duties while complying with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA guidelines. Job Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Complete documentation reflecting multidisciplinary coordination. Document teaching and learning needs of patients and families, and prepare for discharge. Evaluate patients’ responses to nursing and multidisciplinary interventions and document outcomes. Attempt to resolve clinical issues at point of care prior to escalation. Take action to optimize achievement of patient outcomes. Participate in identification, investigation, and resolution of risk‑management, quality‑care, and ethical issues. Address patient issues following established communication hierarchy. Evaluate patient progress toward health goals and modify plan of care as needed. Collaborate with health‑team members to identify patient needs and initiate appropriate interventions. Document patient and family responses and collaborate with RN to modify plan of care. Provide direct patient care using policy and procedure, clinical pathways, and age‑specific guidelines. Recognize and respond to problems, escalating issues to RN when necessary. Incorporate family‑centered principles in daily practice and recognize patient satisfaction/dissatisfaction. Verify and document patient advance care directives. Maintain open communication through intra‑ and inter‑shift reporting. Use appropriate communication and demonstrate proper telephone etiquette. Maintain a clean and safe therapeutic environment. Respond to emergency situations and ensure emergency equipment is present and operational. Obtain prior authorization for medication and referrals per insurance requirements. Process medication orders and refills through the Workflow system, verifying dosage and contacting patients or physicians as needed. Implement conflict‑resolution skills when patient dissatisfaction occurs. Assess and document advance care directives and rights and responsibilities. Establish collaborative relationships with health‑care team members. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent technical diploma. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. 0–1 year of nursing experience in a hospital, ambulatory, private practice, or home‑health setting (preferred). Required Licenses LPN Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Salary Range NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with New York state law on salary transparency. The range for this role is $68,780.35 to $79,441.35 per year. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. The range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
