Safety and Occupational Health Manager

Duties

Direct the planning, scheduling and the conduct of surveys and inspections of safety programs.

Conduct investigations to identify casual factors and recommend countermeasures to control or eliminate hazards.

Evaluate adequacy of safety programs to cope with operational factors.

Perform supervisory duties to include: Assign/monitor work; prepare schedules for completion of work; develop performance standards, evaluate performance; effect disciplinary actions, resolve complaints/grievances; and identify training needs.

Facilitate training for subordinate safety professionals.

Monitor environmental parameters, and conduct inspections including recommendations for corrective action.

Provide oversight of programs related to the disposition and disposal of hazardous and toxic materials.

Evaluate technical aspects of design, development, testing and operation of Army materiel, equipment, and facilities.

Develop policy and plans for the Activity to carry out assigned safety responsibilities.
