Medical Assistant, Sleep Medicine - Westlake

This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties. What you will do includes facilitating unit operations by managing patient flow. You will be responsible for all front desk duties specific to the department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned and complying with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. You must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
• Work Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency) Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency) Medical terminology knowledge. (Preferred proficiency)
• Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
