General Manager - Werner Final Mile

Position Overview Position: General Manager Department: Transportation / Warehouse / White Glove Residential Delivery Operations / Final Mile Job Type: Full-time / On-Site Salary: $70,000 – $96,699.20 (annualized) Schedule: 5:30am/6:00am to 2:00pm, 5 days of a 7‑day delivery operation (Sat – Sun) Job Summary The General Operations Manager reports to the Field Regional Delivery Operations Manager and leads a team of contracted independent home delivery teams and associated internal employees in a fast‑paced environment. The role manages all facets of transportation, warehouse, and home delivery operations, ensuring processes and communications meet and exceed client requirements while delivering a positive customer experience and strong client partnership. Responsibilities Support strategic direction so that all activities align with client goals and expectations. Measure and monitor the complete fulfillment cycle—including transportation, receiving, quality inspections, and return inventory management—to meet and exceed client requirements. Ensure a safe work environment and equipment operation in compliance with OSHA, fire, and local safety regulations. Enforce all government regulations related to warehouse and transportation operations. Support policies and procedures for all maintenance activities. Cultivate a team‑environment culture. Review and analyze activity, operating, and forecast reports with senior management to determine necessary operational modifications. Coordinate, motivate, and evaluate direct reports. Develop and direct personal development plans to support client requirements and specifications. Effectively manage KPI reporting. Qualifications 3‑5 years of experience managing home delivery, 3PL, or installation operations with full P&L responsibility. Minimum 2‑3 years in warehouse management, distribution, and inventory control—preferably in large‑box consumer goods or last‑mile distribution (3PL). Track record of successful warehouse management for large clients with multi‑year service agreements. Ability to manage up to 6+ white‑glove delivery units per day and oversee contracted independent or employee delivery teams. 1‑3 years of experience using delivery software such as Dispatch Track. Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, technology, order fulfillment to retail, transportation, and supply‑chain management. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and planning skills. Proven leadership ability with experience building, mentoring, training, and growing teams. Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing, background, drug screening, and a physical exam.
