About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7PM - 7AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Intermediate/PCU level of care experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PCU level RN/skillset Must-Have: Experience with long-term tracheostomy patients on ventilation. Knowledge of administering 100% FiO2 via suction support and silencing alarms. Skills in trach care and trach suctioning. Ability to perform Q2H neuro checks for stroke patients. Experience with post-stable craniotomy care. Familiarity with high-flow oxygen, trauma patient care, chest tube management, wound vacs, and dressing changes. Ability to manage BiPAP and non-titrating vasoactive or antiarrhythmic drips. Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and temporary pacemaker management. Experience with post-femoral sheath care and insulin drips. General drain and ostomy care, as well as IV starts. Description: A position is available for a registered nurse in an intermediate care unit. The role involves caring for cardiac and medical patients. Duties include managing post-operative general surgery or trauma patients. Experience with interventions following cardiac catheterization and ablation is preferred. Candidates may encounter various conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB with RVR, sepsis, COPD, alcohol withdrawal, IV drug abuse, COVID-19, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-4 during days and nights. Technician support is available with a ratio of 1:6. A resource nurse and hospitalist team are present 24/7. The role may require floating to emergency, intensive care, or critical care units when needed. General hospital orientation is included followed by unit-specific training. Weekend rotation is expected every other week. Time off can be approved up to 7 days, with holiday requests requiring manager approval. All staff must adhere to vaccination requirements for COVID-19 and influenza.
