Job Title: Project Manager 3 (Scrum Master)

Candidate Location Requirement: Must be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within 100 miles)
Duration: 1 Year+ (Long-term contract with high likelihood of extension based on business need)
Target Start Date: August 17, 2026
Work Schedule: Hybrid ( Mandatory on-site Wednesdays and Thursdays ; non-negotiable)

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Scrum Master to act as the driving Agile force for the MDHHS Accounts Receivable and Collections (ARC) Project. In this role, you will coach the team on Scrum practices, facilitate core Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, protect the team from external distractions, and foster collaboration and continuous improvement across cross-functional groups.
Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Act as a servant leader to coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile/Scrum best practices, backlog refinement, story decomposition, estimation, and value prioritization.
• Proactively remove impediments, negotiate dependencies, and collaborate across cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product, architecture, compliance, and operations).
• Guide teams in delivery forecasting, driving transparency, predictability, and continuous delivery metrics (burn-up metrics, dashboards, and KPIs).
• Support Quality Assurance processes including regression, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-deployment validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master in Agile software development environments.
• Hands-on experience facilitating Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Refinement, Reviews, Retrospectives).
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience using enterprise Agile lifecycle management tools (such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally, VersionOne).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Professional experience acting in a dual Project Manager capacity.
• Active CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) or equivalent certification (e.g., PSM I/II, SSM, SASM, ICP-ACC).
• Domain experience with Medical or Financial Systems , enterprise-level financial solutions, debt management, payment processing workflows, or financial case management platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of Kanban and Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, Nexus, LeSS).
• Experience working in cloud-first, integration-heavy, API-driven, or data-centric environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
