Survey Crew Chief

Job Description

Impact Recruitment is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our clients Louisville, Kentucky office.


Your responsibilities will include spending time both in the project office and in the field. You will conduct quality control and monitor progress. This position involves direct coordination with the contractor and subcontractors on site. It is essential to have the capability to discuss project timelines and issues effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Leading survey crew(s) performing topographic, construction staking, boundary surveys and control surveys using both conventional and GPS techniques
• Managing survey project and meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Performing office calculations and support field survey crews for construction staking
• Providing analysis and final map checking and record drawings research
• Conducts QA/QC of engineering parcels and route survey plats
• Establishes and maintains quality control procedures on survey operations
• Verifies the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, Associate's degree (preferred) or equivalent in land survey, design technology, engineering or a related field. A combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• 5+ years surveying experience
• Background in survey, right of way, site development, transportation, construction staking, construction experience, and/or other municipal operations
• AutoCAD Civil 3D
• MicroStation / Bentley OpenRoads or InRoads
• GPS
• LiDAR
• Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
• Capable of solving complex problems using professional judgement, creativity, collaboration, and innovation
• Excellent time management skills
