Fire Alarm Inspector

Overview This position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus. Johnson Controls offers opportunities for professionals in thermal management and building systems. What You Will Do Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler or suppression life‑safety product lines, and similar equipment from competitors. Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment. Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding using laptops or hard‑copy methods. Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via a mobile device. Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems. Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees. Complete assigned inspections on time. Perform other duties as assigned. How You Will Do It Use industry best practices, company standards, and safety guidelines to execute inspections and maintenance tasks. Requirements 2+ years of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment. NICET Level II certification. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Physical capability to carry and move equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs. Comfortable working in unusual or difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements. Willingness to travel out of town, including overnight lodging. Demonstrated high level of customer service. Adherence to and implementation of safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and capacity to learn quickly. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements. Ability to obtain and retain any licenses required by national, state, and local codes. Moderate proficiency with computer software and technology. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $20–$28, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and alignment with market data.
