About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Fundraising to join its team at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive development strategy to accelerate philanthropic growth and support the organization's long-term objectives. This includes managing and expanding a portfolio of major donors, leading the grants program, and growing the planned giving and legacy society. The role is designed for a builder, with a focus on creating new systems and expanding donor engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished development leader with a track record of building fundraising programs, securing major gifts, and leading successful grant programs. They should be an exceptional communicator, relationship builder, and be inspired by the mission of the organization. Applicants for the Head of Fundraising position at the company should have a minimum of 7-10 years' of progressive fundraising experience, with a proven ability to close major gifts and secure foundation grants. Experience in planned giving and legacy programs is essential, as is the ability to work with a high degree of independence and comfort in a rapidly growing environment. The role requires a candidate with strong emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and sound judgment in donor cultivation. A CFRE certification and an advanced degree are preferred, and experience in a national animal welfare organization or a related field is a plus.
