Travel Respiratory Therapist Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Quincy, Illinois Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Quincy, Illinois. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Acute Care Lifesaving (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses as required for the position Summary A Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. RRTs independently assess, treat, and manage patients across a wide range of conditions, including intensive care units and emergency situations. They collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver life‑saving therapies and patient‑centered care. Essential Work Functions Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples Treat patients through modalities including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications Set up and monitor equipment to ensure the patient receives the correct oxygen delivery Observe and record patient status and progress Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care Educate patients and/or family members on medication use and equipment operation Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication in English Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions Proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities Maintain a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50–100 lb) Push, pull, and bend as required during duties Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with diverse personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment Mental Requirements Handle frequent contact with the general public while meeting deadlines under pressure Work with occasional close supervision and also independently as needed Manage irregular activity schedules requiring continuous concentration to detail Sensory Possess adequate visual acuity and effective communication skills Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1,560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Why Choose Fusion?
