About the Position

Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - IV experience - High acuity patient care experience Description: Level 1 trauma experience required. Pre-screens conducted with clinical recommendations sent for manager approval. Candidates must pass DYS exam prior to acceptance. Failure on DYS exam results in a 6-month do not use period. Travel teams must possess their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men must be clean-shaven for fit tests. A pass/fail exam will take place on the first day of orientation. All registered nurses will complete competency assessments for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Nurses must demonstrate competency in maintaining sterile fields. Educational assessments will cover lifts, restraints, and wound care. Must demonstrate ability to read EKGs. Charge nurses will have no patient assignments. Patient-nurse ratios are 1:4. The unit consists of 30 beds with a focus on high acuity patients. Common diagnoses include gynecological surgeries, pre-liver transplants, end-stage renal disease, cellulitis, pneumonia, diabetes, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Nurse aides will be available for assistance. Weekend requirements consist of working every other weekend. Holidays will be included in the rotation. Scrub color is navy. Nurses will float to other units as needed. Candidates should expect a significant patient turnover rate. The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts based on policy. Charting system utilized is Cerner.
