Job Overview Company: Cox Automotive – USA Job Family: Vehicle Operations Job Title: Manheim Mobile Inspector II Employment Level: Individual Contributor Location: Specified city, state, or region (remote work possible) Shift: Day Travel: 100% required – reliable transportation needed. Mileage reimbursement dependent on miles driven. Compensation Hourly base pay rate: $19.90 – $29.81 per hour. The rate may vary within this range based on location and qualifying experience. Additional compensation may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or incentive programs. Responsibilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections on client lots, locating, starting, moving, inspecting, and returning vehicles safely. Verify VIN, mileage, and sub‑series; accurately enter vehicle information into the inspection system. Document equipment, options, damage, missing or inoperable items, exterior and interior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components. Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components. Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management. Adapt to changes in daily appointments to maintain efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit. Develop strong knowledge of clients in territory and engage proactively to keep them active with Manheim mobile inspections. Leverage partner data and insights to maximize the volume of inspected units on dealer lots. Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador, delivering premier client experience and ensuring satisfaction. Collaborate closely with Wholesale Specialists, peers, other Manheim workgroups, and auctions. Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews. Understand and apply NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy. Operate within a continuous improvement/Lean environment and contribute to a lean culture. Maintain production expectations set by leadership. Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and supporting Safety Excellence activities. Perform any other duties as assigned. Required Experience & Skills High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field (additional experience acceptable if combined with higher education). Automotive knowledge preferred (body and mechanical), with 1–2 years of related experience; body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge helpful. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently with remote supervision. Technical aptitude and detail orientation; experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices preferred. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction. Physical capability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level, stand, walk, talk, hear, crouch, bend, and kneel frequently; lift hood or trunk; reach inside or underneath vehicles; exercise near vision to identify obvious damage. Ability to handle varying lighting conditions (exterior, interior, natural, artificial). Can execute duties within required timeframes and meet business requirements.
