Civil Engineer - Land Development, Civil Infrastructure & Design-Build

As our team expands, we're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with others, and continuing to build their technical and project management skills.Why This Opportunity?Join a well-established and highly respected engineering and construction organization with over 40 years of successful project delivery.Work on a wide variety of challenging civil engineering projects—not the same project over and over.Enjoy long-term project stability supported by a strong backlog of work.Collaborate with an experienced, supportive team that enjoys mentoring and helping engineers continue to grow.Be part of a culture that is professional, hardworking, and committed to quality while maintaining a positive, approachable work environment.Continue developing your technical expertise while taking on increasing project leadership responsibilities.Professional development and PE licensure support are encouraged.What You'll DoAs a Civil Engineer, you'll support and help manage projects from early planning and design through permitting, construction, and project completion while continuing to build your technical and project management experience.Engineering Design & AnalysisPrepare and support civil engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.Design grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, roadways, parking facilities, and site development improvements.Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar modeling software.Develop erosion and sedimentation control plans in accordance with Massachusetts regulations.Review technical documents, calculations, and engineering plans to ensure quality and accuracy.Project CoordinationSupport the management of multiple projects while assisting with schedules, budgets, client communication, and project coordination.Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.Assist in preparing project scopes, proposals, schedules, and cost estimates.Help monitor project progress and proactively identify solutions to keep projects moving.Permitting & Regulatory CoordinationPrepare and coordinate permitting packages with agencies including:MassDEPMassDOTConservation CommissionsPlanning BoardsZoning Boards of AppealMunicipal Departments of Public WorksSupport compliance with:Massachusetts Stormwater StandardsWetlands Protection ActMunicipal subdivision regulationsLocal zoning requirementsNPDES requirements and environmental regulationsConstruction SupportConduct site visits and construction observations.Review RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and contractor submittals.Provide engineering support during construction and assist in resolving field issues.Prepare field reports and monitor construction progress.Collaboration & Professional GrowthCollaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers on a variety of civil engineering projects.Participate in QA/QC reviews.Support proposal development and client presentations.Build lasting relationships with clients, consultants, and public agencies.Continue developing leadership and project management skills with guidance from senior engineers.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.Approximately 5–10 years of professional civil engineering experience.FE or EIT certification (Massachusetts or transferable).Experience with land development, municipal infrastructure, transportation, or civil site projects.Experience working with or supporting Massachusetts permitting processes and regulations is preferred.Experience with:AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar hydraulic/stormwater modeling softwareMicrosoft OfficeGIS experience is a plusStrong communication, organization, and project coordination skills.Valid driver's license with the ability to visit project sites throughout Massachusetts.Preferred QualificationsMassachusetts Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of PE licensure.Experience working with Massachusetts municipalities and regulatory agencies.Familiarity with MassDOT Project Development & Design Guide standards.Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects.BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and licensureAnnual performance bonus401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, vision, and disability insuranceGenerous paid time off and holidaysProfessional development supportLicensing, continuing education, and professional membership reimbursementThis position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to grow within a stable, well-established organization while working alongside experienced professionals on a diverse portfolio of projects.If you're looking for an opportunity where your technical expertise is valued, your ideas are heard, and your career can continue to grow, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
