At PGIM, You Can!What you will doPGIM’s Corporate Mezzanine Fund is seeking an Analyst to help grow the initiative. We are looking for an intelligent and motivated individual who possesses an entrepreneurial desire to be part of a fast growing and important platform for PGIM. This requires astute credit analysis, financial modeling skillset, strong writing skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work within a small, collaborative, and dynamic team.This role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct buy-side experience across both senior and junior capital investments, with meaningful exposure to the investment committee and senior decision-makers. The Analyst will report to an Executive Director on the Central Mezzanine Team.This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL where the team is on-site 3 times a week.What you can expect:Build and analyze detailed financial models to evaluate mezzanine debt and structured equity investmentsPerform comprehensive underwriting, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioningPrepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision-making processSupport transaction execution and due diligence, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisorsMonitor an active portfolio of junior capital investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metricsAssist with quarterly valuations, portfolio reviews, and ongoing portfolio management initiativesOccasionally support fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing contentWhat you will bring:Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record; major in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred.1–3 years of relevant experience in a role emphasizing financial analysis, with demonstrated proficiency in interpreting financial statements and evaluating business risks.Excellent analytical and accounting skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.Strong understanding of capital markets, including debt and equity security terms as well as valuation methodologiesStrong writing, interpersonal and communication skillsWhat will set you apartPrevious experience in investment banking, asset management, portfolio management, leveraged finance, transactions advisory, or valuationsParticipation in the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) programAbout the Team:PGIM Capital Partners is the junior capital strategy within PGIM, focused on sourcing, underwriting, and managing mezzanine and structured equity investments in middle market companies. The team originates deals through a broad network including private equity sponsors, advisors, partner firms, and direct issuers, combining regional coverage with a centralized investment team. With over 25 years of experience, the platform recently deployed its $2.3 billion sixth fund and has begun investing its latest vehicle, PGIM Capital Partners VII.Note: Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The base salary for this role is $90,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
