Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Dallas, TX, specializing in cardiopulmonary care.

Details

• Cardiopulmonary specialty unit in a hospital setting in Dallas, TX
• AM shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), variable days
• 13-week travel contract

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field (e.g., AS in Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Care) required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Active RRT credential required
• Active TX Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification through AHA required
• General computer proficiency, including electronic medical documentation
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions granted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Administer respiratory care services including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry per physician orders
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations
• Review physician orders, analyze diagnostic test results, and implement approved protocols as appropriate
• Assess and document patient response to therapy, report outcomes, and make clinical recommendations
• Instruct patients in the use of respiratory care equipment and coach patients to improve technique
• Collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including other clinicians and students
• Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
