Senior Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Accountant , you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting across the business by preparing monthly accounting entries, reconciliations and financial analysis in line with US GAAP .

You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance to support month-end close, statutory reporting, audits and process improvements. You'll also contribute to improving accounting processes and strengthening financial controls in a growing global SaaS business.

Main responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for assigned entities and functional areas.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules to support month-end close.
• Prepare payroll-related accounting entries, including employer costs, commissions, bonuses and PTO accruals .
• Prepare revenue and deferred revenue journals and own the reconciliation of these balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to stakeholders across the business.
• Support statutory and external audits through the preparation of reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Support the day-to-day operation of the accounting function while working closely with colleagues across Finance.
• Help maintain accurate and complete financial records and strengthen financial controls.
• Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

Essential criteria

• Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) .
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP .
• Experience preparing financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end accounting.
• Experience supporting external audit processes.
• Experience using accounting systems and financial software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within reporting deadlines.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across a global organisation.

Desirable criteria

• 3+ years' experience in a SaaS or similarly complex commercial environment .
• Experience working in a private equity-backed organisation.
• Experience using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Experience using FloQast .
• Experience using AI or automation tools to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
