Elem Health and Wellness Specialist, (.4 FTE), Temp

Elementary Health and Wellness Specialist ( .4 FTE , Part‑Time, Temporary, 2026–2027 School Year) Position is anticipated to start August 31, 2026 and end June 21, 2027. It will work Wednesday and Thursday, 8 hours each day. Position Summary The Health and Wellness Specialist will provide Health and Social/Emotional lessons for elementary students K‑5 and help elementary schools support students on individual plans. Responsibilities include: Teach weekly 30‑minute lessons K‑5 in core areas of Health and Social Emotional Development (curriculums such as MindUP; Connected and Respected, Kelso’s Choices; Zones of Regulation; 2nd Steps, etc., plus district‑provided health curriculum). Support the school's social emotional approaches (PBIS; Responsive Schools; Morning Meeting; Closing Circles; Brain Breaks). Provide culturally relevant instruction that incorporates an understanding of identity, language, culture, and race in interactions, conflict resolution, restorative practices, and healthy development. Help teams develop evidence‑based small group interventions (Tier II) and support Tier III social/behavioral interventions. Assist with data entry and reporting for behavior trackers and interventions. Support administrators, teachers, and other school staff in identifying root causes of student behavioral issues and ways to meet students’ social and emotional needs. Seek input from parents and provide parents information on issues, plans, and growth. License Requirement Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Teaching License with an elementary multiple subjects endorsement or elementary counseling endorsement. Affinity Groups for Educators of Color. Salary Annual Salary Range (2025‑2026): $58,788 – $111,463 (193‑Day Contract). Initial placement based on education and experience. Salary is prorated based on FTE and start date. As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive: A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards). A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD. Stipend(s) are pro‑rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment. Retirement Contribution North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP). The district contributes the employer portion; a mandatory employee portion is required upon eligibility (six full calendar months in a qualifying position). Part‑time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
