A well-established wholesale and distribution client is looking for a seasoned Lumber Trader to buy, sell and grow a profitable book of business. The role is fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the US and Canada.What You'll DoBuy and sell lumber, panels and wood products with mills, wholesalers, distributors and dealers across North AmericaBuild, manage and expand a book of business through prospecting and strong relationshipsNegotiate pricing, freight and terms to protect margin and turn inventoryTrack market trends, pricing and supply/demand using Random Lengths and other industry sourcesCoordinate truck, rail and mixed-load logistics, including cross-border shipmentsApply species, grade and product knowledge to match supply with customer needsManage credit exposure and resolve claims or shipping issues quicklyWhat You BringProven experience as a lumber or wood products trader, buyer or sellerAn existing book of business is strongly preferredSolid knowledge of species, grades and products (dimensional, studs, boards, panels, treated, specialty)Strong market awareness and comfort acting on market reportsExcellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skillsSelf-motivated and competitive, with the drive to work independentlyCompensation: $125,000-$300,000 per year (full commission, above industry-average payout)Contact: View email address on click.appcast.io | View phone number on click.appcast.io
