Job Title: Launchpad Electrical Technician (Journeyman/Certified Electrician)

Job Description

This role supports the development of a high-profile launch pad by installing, building, and maintaining complex electrical and instrumentation systems in a dynamic field environment. You will work hands-on with power distribution up to 480VAC, intricate cable assemblies, and PLC-based manufacturing hardware to ensure reliable operation of launch pad infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate wiring for pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems to ensure accurate monitoring and control.
• Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs with precision and adherence to electrical standards.
• Perform continuity checks and use measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and voltage calibrators to locate and correct wiring errors.
• Support fellow technicians and engineering personnel by performing assembly work using shop equipment and hand tools.
• Install and modify electrical conveyances, including conduit and cable tray, to support electrical distribution and routing.
• Install cable and cable assemblies, ensuring proper routing, strain relief, and termination.
• Build intricate and complex cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors and contacts while maintaining high quality standards.
• Troubleshoot AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Build and terminate power equipment up to 480VAC in accordance with electrical codes and internal procedures.
• Build, terminate, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based manufacturing hardware used in launch pad systems.
• Fabricate support structures, enclosures, and conveyances for electrical distribution to protect and organize wiring and equipment.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting, including conduit layout and bending, cable termination, wire pulling, and wire preparation.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and piping diagrams to complete installations and repairs.
• Conduct quality inspections on harnesses and cables to verify proper assembly, routing, and termination.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for construction, repair, and calibration tasks in the field.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of professional experience working in a construction electrical environment or similar setting.
• Journeyman or certified electrician-level experience, with confidence working on systems up to 480V.
• Hands-on experience in industries such as shipyard, oil and gas, aerospace, or petrochemical environments.
• Strong experience in electrical installation, troubleshooting, conduit installation and bending, cable termination, wire pulling, and wire preparation.
• Ability to install and terminate wiring for instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Experience building and troubleshooting AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC.
• Experience building, terminating, and maintaining PLC-based manufacturing hardware.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and piping diagrams.
• Capability to perform quality inspections on harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Comfort working in field conditions, including both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Proficient use of power tools such as hand drills, grinders, band saws, vacuums, and impact drivers.
• Proficient use of hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, brooms, flush cuts, and wrenches.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role working on a major launchpad, involving both indoor and outdoor environments and exposure to active construction and industrial operations. You will regularly work with electrical systems up to 480VAC, PLC-based hardware, Mil-C connectors, conduit and cable tray, and a wide range of hand and power tools. The setting is fast-paced and highly technical, with a focus on safety, precision, and collaboration among technicians and engineers. Work may involve standing for extended periods, working at heights or in confined spaces, and adapting to varying weather conditions while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cape Canaveral, FL.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Cape Canaveral,FL.
