This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader with emergency nursing expertise and demonstrated management experience who is passionate about patient safety, quality outcomes, and team development.The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, age-appropriate patient care while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsProvide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Emergency DepartmentEnsure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including National Patient Safety GoalsMonitor departmental budgets, productivity, staffing levels, overtime, and premium pay utilizationServe as a role model, advisor, and clinical resource to staff and interdisciplinary teamsStaff Management & DevelopmentHire, onboard, mentor, and retain nursing staffEnsure all staff competencies, certifications, and education requirements are completedManage performance, provide coaching, and address disciplinary actions when necessaryFoster an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative work environmentPatient Care & ExperienceChampion exceptional patient and family experiencesSupport evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiativesEnsure rapid response to emergent and critical patient situationsResource StewardshipEnsure accurate payroll and staffing alignmentAct as a responsible steward of organizational resourcesRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a CCNE-accredited programActive Maryland RN License (MBON)5+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience1+ year of leadership or supervisory experienceBLS (AHA) – RequiredACLS & PALS (AHA) – RequiredPreferred QualificationsMasters degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, MA, or MS)National nursing certification (preferred within 1 year of hire)Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (per unit guidelines)Or refer someone
