Sr. Technical Program Manager, SCOT- Fulfillment Optimization, Planning

Sr. Technical Program Manager, SCOT- Fulfillment Optimization, Planning Job ID: 10582852 | Amazon.com Services LLC Here’s a fun one: when you order something on Amazon, there are practically thousands of ways we could get it to you. Which Fulfillment Center ships it? Which carriers carry it? Which items get tucked into the same box? Now scale that puzzle to billions of items shipped annually, worldwide. That’s our playground. At Amazon’s Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT), we’re tasked with fulfilling customer orders in the smartest way imaginable — getting every order out the door, across the globe, on time, and brilliantly optimized. It’s big, it’s bold, and it’s a genuinely delightful set of problems to wake up to. Want the big picture? Take a two-minute tour here: Key job responsibilities Program leadership: Drive complex, cross‑functional technical programs end to end — from fuzzy idea to delivered impact — across science, engineering, and ops teams. Roadmaps & mechanisms: Build and own roadmaps, operating cadences, and the mechanisms that keep everyone aligned and accountable. Cross-team alignment: Partner with scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate optimization goals into clear, executable plans. Risk management: Spot risks and dependencies early, clear roadblocks, and keep programs humming even when the terrain gets tricky. Metrics & goals: Define success metrics, track progress against goals, and keep a clear‑eyed view of what’s working (and what needs a nudge). Executive communication: Craft crisp, compelling updates for senior leaders — turning complexity into confident, decision‑ready narratives. A day in the life You kick off the morning scanning program dashboards over coffee — simulations ran overnight, and the results are in. You huddle with scientists to pressure‑test an optimization approach, then jump to a working session with engineering to sequence the next milestone. Midday, you unblock a cross‑team dependency with a well‑placed doc and a crisp decision. In the afternoon, you’re distilling it all into a punchy update for leadership — and before you log off, you’ve nudged three programs a meaningful step forward. Big scope, real impact, never a dull moment. About the team The Fulfillment Network Planning team owns and operates the simulation systems that continually optimize how tens of millions of products are distributed across Amazon’s warehouses — and we do it in the most cost‑effective way possible.
