Respiratory Therapist II

Overview Lake Huron Medical Center is a 139‑bed community hospital that serves residents of St. Clair and Sanilac counties, providing inpatient and outpatient services including emergency care, stroke center, cancer treatments, surgery, physical therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, and specialized diabetes programs. Responsibilities Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the provider. Emphasis is placed on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population‑specific needs. The role may also act as Lead RCP, responsible for the section or department during shifts. Qualifications Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained current. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintained current. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire and maintained current or obtained within 60 days of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred. Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Two (2) years of acute‑care experience preferred.
