Project Scope/Client Selling Points For Candidates:

Product: SpectrumTV Android applications on all Android platforms

Continued maintenance and development of new features, which will be rolled out as they determine the need

This resource will be monitoring the data behind each release

How well is the app doing with production?

Triaging issues first

Communicating with developer each week before their release cadences

High profile projects and role, this person has the ability to learn a lot about Charter as well as their products

Must Have Skills/Certs/Technologies:

MUST HAVE:

Hands-on experience with analytics

A data analyst background would be great

Experience with experiments and A/B testing

Experience with DevOps operations

Managing releases, working on CI/CD pipelines

NICE TO HAVE:

Knowledge of Android development (Java or Kotlin)

Day To Day:

Management of very technical features, but will not be hands-on coding.

No personnel management

Will be communicating with senior management, stakeholders, developers. Good communication is critical!

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Monitor SpectrumTV on Android platforms and actively identify, investigate, and triage production issues

Provide live application support during "high volume" video events (Superbowl, Olympics, National Elections, etc.)

Maintain GIT repository

Ownership of application release efforts:

Build app packages for testing and release

Work with internal testing teams to prepare for release

Prepare/maintain backend JSON configurations

Execute release and monitor version rollout and adoption

Manage A/B experimentation and canary experimentation on platform:

Work with data enablement team and feature owners to create experiment plan

Creating experiment configurations

Working with internal test teams to validate experiment prior to launch

Execute experiment/canary and monitor rollout

Work with data enablement team to determine outcome of experiment based on recorded data

Manage in-app "Takeover" messages:

Create render configs using YAML that detail messaging to user

Create application JSON configs to coordinate when message displays to user

Monitor and report on rollout of messaging to user

Facilitate relationship with Android (the company) in order to:

Triage and investigate video player issues

Triage and investigate application or OS crashes

Manage test devices included in beta OS program

Pre-emptively test new OS and monitor rollout across devices

Maintain and manage application error codes

Skills:

Android Development experience (Java or Kotlin)

Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools (Kibana, Tableau, AWS Athena, Splunk)

Familiarity using client debugging proxy tools (Charles, Fiddler, etc.)

Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence)

Familiarity with SQL

Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

Experience with CI/CD automation (Gitlab)

Ability to effectively communicate among team members and present information and respond to questions from leadership
