This facility provides adult cardiac anesthesia services across inpatient and operating room settings, supported by an established care team model with CRNA staffing. The facility maintains a daily patient volume of 34 and operates with 9 to 12 CRNAs on the day shift and 2 CRNAs available on call during nights and weekends. Clinical resources and protocols are in place to support structured coverage for both scheduled and on-call cardiac cases, with coverage needed to address PTO for a cardiovascular physician.

Port Charlotte sits along Charlotte Harbor in Southwest Florida, connected to the Peace and Myakka rivers and 165 miles of man-made waterways, offering boating, fishing charters, kayaking, and tiki cruises. Clinicians on assignment may enjoy outdoor recreation at Tippecanoe Environmental Park, a 380-acre preserve with seven miles of trails, as well as Port Charlotte Beach Park and several golf courses. Shopping and dining options are available at Port Charlotte Town Center, with additional attractions accessible in nearby Punta Gorda and along the Gulf Coast.

The adult cardiac anesthesiologist will provide inpatient and OR anesthesia coverage on weekday day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with shared call coverage that includes unrestricted nights and weekends. Weekday night call runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and weekend call runs from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM; one physician and two CRNAs are on call, with the second CRNA serving as backup. All call is beeper call; however, day cases on Saturday and Sunday should be expected. The clinician must be willing to work cases independently when needed, though the primary role is supervisory; TEE certification is required, and board certification in anesthesiology is negotiable.
