About The Role
We are currently seeking a focused, creative individual to become part of the management of seasoned tax professionals:
Job Description
- Review federal, state and multistate business, fiduciary, and personal income tax returns.
- Training staff in tax matters.
- Engage with clients and other staff to ensure proactive tax planning.
- Prepare tax projections and consulting on tax-related matters, including complex (fun!) tax issues.
- Oversee federal and state income tax notice correspondence.
- Building new and existing client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business.
- Managing multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
- Interpret the U.S. tax code.
- Research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues.
- Manage, develop, and mentor staff/managers on projects and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA Certification.
- 6+ years prior tax experience in public accounting.
- Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus).
- Experience preparing and reviewing entities and individual tax returns.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Self-starter and team player with ability to recognize when additional hour commitments are needed and willingness to take on extra work to meet firm wide deadlines.
Qualified candidates who can work in-office, hybrid or remote.
40+ hours standard week with up to 60+ hours during peak season (February through April & August through October)
