RN Nurse Supervisor

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units. Provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts. Communicates with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator within identified scope of responsibility. Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and customers in a professional and courteous manner. Demonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations. Ability to facilitate clinical management and work effectively under pressure. Meets deadlines and manages multiple priorities while enhancing the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements is necessary. Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills required. Computer literacy is essential. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissue. Models and exemplifies professional behavior, effective communication, and attentiveness to the care environment. Ensures safety and promotes dignity, respect, well-being, and healthy relationships.
