ESY - STEP/RISE 1st-5th Grade Paraprofessionals (Summer 2026)

Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined that, in order to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time, a student is required to attend ESY. These services are based upon the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals and objectives. This role is within our specialized RISE and STEP programs and requires supporting students with significant needs in highly structured settings. RISE serves students with moderate‑to‑severe intellectual/developmental and multiple disabilities, while STEP primarily serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and focuses on structured teaching, communication, behavior and self‑management, independence, and generalization of skills. Many students in the STEP or RISE program that attend ESY are already in a specialized program throughout the school year, and they require a significantly modified curriculum, small‑setting classrooms, and direct instruction on modified academics and life/social skills.
